Meet and pet the huskies at the small family kennel and explore the silence of the winter nature of Lapland on a self-guided husky safari.
During this program, you will go on a self-guided husky safari on a 5 km track. The approximate safari time is 30-45 min, which can vary, as it always includes a stop-over and is dependent on the weather conditions the dogs are running in.
During the stop-over, a musher and passenger can change places. The trip by car to the husky kennel takes about 40 min from Rovaniemi city center. Upon arrival, you will get complete instructions for driving (mushing) the dog sled on your own and then immediately start the safari.
The trail runs over a frozen lake and through the frozen forest in an amazing scenery of arctic Lapland that is full of life if you have an eye to see it. Hear the soft steps of the dogs and their breathing while they take you on an adventure you will never forget. The host will talk about life with the dogs and answer any questions you may have.

RECOMMENDATION
We recommend wearing warm winter clothing.
We recommend applying non-water-based winter cream for the face and covering any open skin areas.
Please take off your gloves/mittens when touching the huskies. They love to play with gloves and might tear them easily.
Do not be afraid of the dogs as they're genetically friendly to people.
Please do not feed the dogs.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if the booking is canceled 2 days or less before the event.
We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if the booking is canceled 7 days or less before the event.
We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if the booking is canceled 90 days or less before the event.
PLEASE NOTE
For family safaris, please always bear in mind that one sled can take max. 2 adults & 1 child (under 7 y.o.) or 2 adults & 2 small children (3-5 y.o.).
The final decision about seating is taken by the host on the spot, as it can depend on participants' weight, height, etc.
