Transfer from Levi to Kirkenes (Norway) takes about 6 hours one way. Time on the RIB boat in the fjord is about 1-2 hours. We will wake you up with a freshly brewed Finnish coffee and tasty breakfast pack in a bus. As we’re driving to the North, you’ll see a landscape changing from taiga to tundra and after the Norwegian border crossing – fjords and mountains. After a briefing about safety rules at sea we will put on the warm floating suits, board on a RIB boat and go out on a cruise in the fjord. When we reach the fishing grounds your captain will lift a big crab pod from the sea bottom full of crabs and release them on the deck. You can take photos with crabs Captain will explain the difference between male and female, and if you're lucky you can taste crab caviar. When we return to the shore, the captain will prepare a delicious meal of tender crab meat and serve it to you in a cozy fisherman's dining room. After dinner, you will return to Levi by bus When we return on the shore, you will be invited to a local village restaurant for a a delicious meal of freshly boiled king crab with speciality sauce. WHAT'S INCLUDED PLEASE NOTE MEETING POINTS WATCH VIDEO This snowmobile safari will give you a chance to ride your own snowmobile on the forest trails, visit a local reindeer farm, and enjoy a peaceful reindeer ride. You will experience beautiful wintery scenery whilst driving through the forests and will have the opportunity to take many photos. After driving through the beautiful forest, we stop at a local reindeer farm where you will get to experience a short but exciting reindeer sleigh ride. We then warm ourselves up in a wooden guest house where hot drinks and cookies are served to the guests. The riding time on snowmobiles is approximately 2 hours and time in the reindeer farm is 1 hour. The average speed during our tours is limited due to safety and traffic regulations. Two adults ride on one snowmobile, a single riding supplement is available additionally. WHAT'S INCLUDED Transfer. Guided safari. Reindeer farm program, and short ride. Warm clothing, boots, helmet, gloves/mittens, socks, scarves. Hot drink. NOT INCLUDED Snacks. RECOMMENDATION Please take your driving license with you on the snowmobile safari as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari. We recommend wearing thermo body-wear & multilayer clothing and woolen socks. You will get warm outer clothing and boots before the safari. For those people who consider self-rental: out there you'll be surrounded by almost total whiteness, so it's quite easy to lose one's way for the first time, that's why to guarantee quality time, we highly recommend for the first time go on an organized safari with an experienced local guide. INCLUDED PLEASE NOTE Pricing notes: Standard price is given for one person on a double snowmobile or in a sled. Solo driving is available as a supplement. Child price is valid for a child under 140 cm seated in a sleigh. Insurance covers accidents with a maximum driver excess of 1500 €. You can buy a waiver for 20 € to lower the excess to 350 €. The waiver is available to buy only on the spot. According to Finnish law, to drive a snowmobile one should be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license of category B, T, A1, or A (i.e. car or motorbike). Alcohol tolerance is zero, drivers will have to pass an alcohol test before the safari. A second passenger can sit behind the driver on the snowmobile if the person's minimum height is 140 cm and his/her feet can fully reach the footrests. Otherwise, this person should be seated in the sled. The sled is always pulled by the guide's snowmobile. The sled has an open top and can take up to 8 persons. It's advised that a small child seated in a sleigh is accompanied by an adult. The maximum speed limit is 60 km/h and 80 km/h on the lakes. Driving is only allowed on marked trails. The early evening program is suitable for families with children as it starts at 15:00 and 17:30 and lasts about 1,5 hours on the spot. Welcome to Polarman’s camp and Snow Igloo Park, our exclusive and private place just outside Levi without tourist buzz and with unobstructed almost 360⁰ sky view, no light pollution and warm Aurora dome shelter! Our transfer from Levi will take about 10 minutes. Upon arrival, the Polarman will welcome you inside the private camp area, get you seated at the open fire on the reindeer skin and introduce you to the amenities and attractions included in your entrance ticket. Polarman will invite you to follow him for the mysterious Aurora Hunt experience on a beautiful walk along the river. In the autumn time, you have a chance to enjoy so called double Aurora through the reflection in the river. If we spot the Northern Lights, we will use our professional camera with sensitive matrix to capture the beautiful moment with you, Lights and arctic nature in the background. It's time to check out our unique Snow Igloo Park. It’s located side by side with Polarman’s camp. We start to build the Snow Park as soon as constant freezing temperatures settle, usually in November. By December we usually manage to build most of the snow park constructions, however, the building process continues in December as well. The whole park is surrounded by walls made of snow and ice. The heart of the park is the big Snow Igloo, the other snow constructions are Inuit snow igloo, snow slide for children, snow maze and of course snowman. The snow walls and other buildings are nicely illuminated and look truly amazing in the darkness. Our Polarman will invite adults and children into the big snow igloo to take part in the winter survival course. For children we have a snow playground with tobogganing on the snowslide, snow maze and tunnels. As the winter season goes by, the Snow Park grows bigger thanks to our unique “Build Your Own Snow Igloo” program. You can check the Igloos built by other guests on a 3-hour masterclass program. Polarman will then invite you inside our warm Aurora dome. The temperature inside stays +15 degrees or higher. You can sit comfortably and watch our blazing fireplace, while we serve you warm drinks and cookies. It's movie time! Enjoy a unique 20-minute movie on a big screen that will show you 7 different seasons of Lapland and Northern Lights.
