You’ll be seated in a sleigh (fits up to 2 adults and 1 child), while the musher stands behind you on the runners. You’ll experience the feeling of the dogs pulling you at their own pace – a natural and authentic ride. Meet the friendly reindeer Taika for a photo opportunity, then warm up in a cozy Lappish hut with a hot drink and warm sausage by the fireplace. It can be rented separately before departure from the STG / Safarimarket office in Levi center at extra charge. If you want to rent the clothing, please be at least 20 min before pick up time to get dressed. It’s better to be dressed overly warm than “underdressed”, especially on longer safari programs. In cold weather, we recommend applying no-water based winter cream for face and cover open skin areas tightly. Bring gloves or better mittens, a good hat, hand/foot warmers and goggles. Please take off your gloves/mittens when touching the huskies. They love to play with gloves and might break it easily. Do not be afraid of dogs, as they are genetically friendly to people. Child price is valid for a child under 140 cm seated in a sleigh. Insurance covers accidents with a maximum responsibility of 990€. According to Finnish law, to drive a snowmobile one should be at least 15 years old and have a valid driver's license of category B, T, A1, or A (i.e. car or motorbike). Alcohol tolerance is zero, drivers will have to pass an alcohol test before the safari. A second passenger can sit behind the driver on the snowmobile if the person's minimum height is 140 cm and his/her feet can fully reach the footrests. Otherwise, this person should be seated in the sled. The sled is always pulled by the guide's snowmobile. The sled has an open top and can take up to 4 persons.
