People travel for hours, and sometimes across the world, to find the silence, darkness and open sky that real wilderness can offer. This is ten minutes from Levi center. No light pollution, no resort noise, an almost 360° open sky above, and a transfer shorter than the time it can take to find a parking place.

Your entrance ticket includes the whole experience. From the first fire to the final marshmallow, every part of the evening is included in one live program: the walk, the snow park, the Polarman’s presentation, the dome, the BBQ, the stories and the photographs, with the Polarman as your host throughout.

The Polarman - A Local Northern Host Who Has Lived the Arctic

The Polarman is not an ordinary safari guide. He is a local person who has spent years living and travelling in the Arctic, with a genuine background in long-distance expeditions in extreme arctic conditions. When he speaks about surviving the cold, reading the sky or building a snow shelter, he speaks from experience. The stories he shares by the fire each evening are his own.

Being Outside in the Arctic Night - Cold, Dark and Real

For many guests, especially those arriving from warmer countries, large cities or places where snow is something mostly seen in photographs, simply standing in a real winter wilderness is already a powerful experience. An open fire in a silent snowscape. A walk along a frozen river in the dark. The evening is designed so you can be properly outside, in the cold, dark and real Arctic night, while always having somewhere warm to go to. The aurora dome stays open throughout the evening and remains above +15°C (59°F). Guests move between the outdoors and the warmth inside freely, at their own pace.

The Snow Igloo Park - Hand-Built Each Winter (Dec 10 - Mar 31)

Built by hand each winter once the freezing temperatures settle, the Snow Igloo Park becomes a world of carved archways, connecting tunnels, igloos and snow sculptures, surrounded by walls of packed snow and illuminated after dark in deep blues, purples, reds and ambers. The colored light across the white snow beneath the open winter sky is something photographs can hardly capture.

Arctic Survival Presentation Inside the Snow Igloo

Inside the big snow igloo, the Polarman gives his Arctic survival presentation, sharing knowledge and techniques drawn from years of living and travelling in the north. One detail surprises almost every guest: when it is -30°C (-22°F) outside, it can genuinely feel warm inside a snow igloo. You feel it yourself.

Children have their own favorite part of the park, with tobogganing on the snow slide, finding the way through the maze and exploring the snow tunnels.

The Snow Igloo Park as It Takes Shape (Nov 20 - Dec 9)

In late November and early December, the Snow Igloo Park is still being built. The huge blocks of snow used for the walls and structures are mid-formation, partly finished and partly raw. It is not a lesser version of the park, but a different and rarer stage of it.

The Guided Walk Along the Frozen River - Private Wilderness on Foot

The Polarman leads a guided walk through the private camp area along the frozen river, away from the dome and the firepit, into the quiet of the forest and the dark. It is the kind of walk that is possible only on private land, after dark, with someone who knows the place.

The Lappish BBQ, Firepit Storytelling & Arctic Night Sky

The evening ends around the outdoor firepit. Collect your sausage from the Arctic BBQ Snow Station, a serving counter carved from snow inside the igloo, then grill it on a stick over the open fire. Marshmallows follow, together with more stories from the Polarman and the sky above.

Staff follow conditions throughout the evening. When activity appears in the sky, guests are called outside immediately, with the professional camera ready. The camp’s position, on private land with no light pollution and an almost 360° open skyline, makes it one of the best locations near Levi for Northern Lights viewing when conditions allow.

Professional Photo Session - Images Sent by Email After the Event

A professional photo session continues throughout the full program. All images are processed and sent to guests by email after the event - no need to manage your own camera in the cold.

Birthday party or special celebration event: You can bring in elements of surprise for your guests to your special event, for example: romantic package decorations, ice bar to serve drinks or ice table to eat, grilling party, and of course outdoor candle decorations.

Performance of indigenous Saami Shaman: Open yourself up to the power of native people living by nature next to the reindeers – the last aborigines in Europe. Dressed in traditional costumes, Saami will perform original joiking (throat singing) and play a magical drum. Shaman will introduce you to the history of shamanism in Lapland and perform a ceremony. There are also some modern joikes, which combine rap or rock style.

Professional photographer: During the program we’ll be taking non-professional photos and videos, but if you wish to have professional photo shooting, it should be ordered as an extra service.

Snowmobile Safari Ending at Polarman's Camp: Combine your Polarman’s Camp experience with a snowmobile safari through the Arctic wilderness. After the safari, you will arrive directly at Polarman’s Camp to enjoy the evening program, followed by a private transfer back to your accommodation.
