Snowmobile Safari with Ice Fishing – Levi
A wonderful experience on the snowmobile to the frozen lake and ice fishing.
This 2-in-1 activity is ideal for families or anyone looking to combine outdoor fun with a traditional Arctic hobby. The tour begins with a guided snowmobile ride from Levi, taking you through snowy forest trails toward a quiet wilderness lake.
At the lake, your guide will demonstrate how to drill a hole in the ice and provide all the fishing equipment needed. You’ll have time to try ice fishing - a popular winter activity in Lapland - while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. A hot drink and light snack will be served during the break, inside a cozy lakeside kota (hut).
The tour includes pickup from Levi and transport to the safari center, where you’ll receive full thermal gear: snowmobile suit, helmet, boots, mittens, balaclava, and wool socks. After a safety briefing and basic driving instructions, the snowmobile safari begins.

The standard price is given for one person on a double snowmobile or in a sled. Solo driving is available as a supplement.
Child price is valid for a child under 130 cm seated in a sleigh. Insurance covers accidents with a maximum driver excess of 800 €.
You can buy a waiver for 20 € to lower the excess to 300 €. A waiver is available to buy only on the spot.

RECOMMENDATION
Please take your driving license with you on the snowmobile safari as the police may check the validity of the license during the safari.
We recommend wearing thermo body-wear & multilayer clothing and woolen socks. Y
ou get warm outer clothing and boots before the safari.
For those people who consider self-rental: out there you'll be surrounded by almost total whiteness, so it's quite easy to lose one's way for the first time, that's why to guarantee quality time, we highly recommend for the first time go on an organized safari with an experienced local guide.

We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event
We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 21 days or less before the event
We will charge a cancellation fee of 10% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event

Practical information:
Average snowmobile speed: 30–40 km/h (in line with safety regulations)
Two adults share one snowmobile unless a solo driving supplement is booked
Children under 130 cm ride in a sleigh pulled by the guide’s snowmobile
Finnish law requires snowmobile drivers to be at least 15 years old and hold a valid driver’s license (B, T, A1, or A)
Alcohol tolerance is zero; drivers may be breathalyzed before the safari
Passengers must be at least 130 cm tall to ride on a snowmobile and must be able to reach the footrests
Sleighs (open-top, up to 8 persons) are always pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. Small children should be accompanied by an adult
The official speed limit for snowmobiles in Finland is 60 km/h; driving is only permitted on marked trails
