The trail runs on public marked snowmobile trails and sections of privately owned land before the terrain starts to rise in earnest, passing through the Kätkätunturi and Pyhätunturi mountain areas toward the summit of Levi fell. This safari operates with single drivers only. The summit ascent and descent demand full attention and full control — no passengers, no shared machines. Every rider is alone with the machine and the fell. On the way up, the forest gives way to open fell. On the descent, the fell drops steeply back into the trees below. It is technically the most demanding route we offer, and the most rewarding for the right rider. At the summit, on a clear day, the view extends all the way to the Swedish border. The scale of Lapland from that height is not something you can replicate anywhere else on the ground. A midway stop at a private kota or wilderness café — grilled sausage or a snack, hot drink — breaks the climb before the final push. Available from January onwards, subject to snow and fell conditions. The guide confirms suitability on the day. Summit riding is not guaranteed and may be replaced with the extended fell route if conditions do not allow the final ascent. Disclaimer — Snowmobile Safaris Damage to snowmobiles: All snowmobiles are insured as required by Finnish law, subject to the Finnish Motor Liability Insurance Act. Clients are liable for damage caused to snowmobiles. The tour price includes accident insurance with a maximum deductible of €950 per driver. The Guarantee - 70% Refund if No Aurora Is Seen If the northern lights are not seen at all during the tour, 70% of the price is refunded. A sighting is considered successful if the aurora is visible to the naked eye, through the professional camera, or through a smartphone in night mode. Even a faint visible aurora counts. This is in line with standard international aurora tour practice. Cloud layers vary in thickness and wind can shift the cover quickly. On many evenings that look overcast from the village, gaps open up in the right direction. The driver has seen enough Lapland nights to read the sky, not just the forecast. With no distance or time limit, there is more room to follow those gaps wherever they lead. Photography - Professional Camera, Tripod and Next-Day Delivery The driver carries a professional camera and tripod throughout the tour. When the aurora appears, they photograph you with the lights as a backdrop. Images are processed overnight and delivered via download link the following day.
